MANILA — The Philippines has received a $600 million (about P36.95 billion) grant from the United States to expand access to quality healthcare and boost the country&#x27;s resilience against public health threats.Under the grant, the Philippines and the US will work together to strengthen disease surveillance, detection, and outbreak response. It will also improve the country&#x27;s capacity to finance and manage the health sector.The grant will also support priority health programs addressing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tuberculosis (TB), neglected tropical diseases, and maternal, newborn, and child health.In a statement, Department of Finance Secretary Frederick Go said this grant will enable the Philippines to respond more effectively to health emergencies.“Investing in healthcare is investing in our people, our productivity, and our future,&quot; said Go. The DOF is the agency that facilitated the US grant under the Strategic Objective Agreement (SOAG) for Integrated and Sustainable Health Systems in the Philippines.In September last year, the US said it plans to give the Philippines P13.8 billion to help strengthen health management, services, and response to diseases.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/health-science/2025/9/12/us-to-give-philippines-p13-8-b-health-assistance-1430" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">US to give Philippines P13.8-billion aid for &#x27;public health challenges&#x27;</a></div>
