<p>President Duterte <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/02/21/19/new-law-modifies-pnp-rank-classification">signed into law</a> this month Republic Act 11200 which modifies the rank classification in the Philippine National Police. </p><p>Police officers will now be called by their military rank equivalent to avoid confusion and because Filipinos are still not used to the current police ranks, says Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, a former military chief. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/news/02/27/20190224-policemen.jpg?ext=.jpg"/></figure></div>
