The LPA has a high chance of developing into tropical depression Querubin, the first storm of December.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2024/12/9/kanlaon-volcano-erupts-alert-level-raised-to-3-1541">Kanlaon Volcano erupts; alert level raised to 3</a></div><p>It is expected to bring significant rainfall and thunderstorms, further increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in areas surrounding Kanlaon Volcano.</p><p>Negros Occidental includes several cities and municipalities that are particularly vulnerable to volcanic hazards, such as Bago City, La Carlota City, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, San Enrique, Valladolid, Binalbagan, Himamaylan City, Hinigaran, Isabela, La Castellana, and Moises Padilla (Magallon).</p><p>Residents have been advised to closely monitor weather updates from PAGASA and alerts from local government units, familiarize themselves with the nearest evacuation centers, be prepared to relocate if necessary, and avoid river channels, streams, and areas identified as lahar-prone.</p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO: <br/></strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bsG0R3jd5FM?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
