State weather bureau PAGASA earlier in the day said a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted some 155 kilometers east-southeast of Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The LPA has a high chance of developing into tropical depression Querubin, the first storm of December.

Residents have been advised to closely monitor weather updates from PAGASA and alerts from local government units, familiarize themselves with the nearest evacuation centers, be prepared to relocate if necessary, and avoid river channels, streams, and areas identified as lahar-prone.
