Mary Jane Veloso appealed for clemency after arriving from Indonesia on December 18, 2024, at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong, where she will stay for 60 days. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Thursday that the granting of clemency to Veloso, who has spent almost 15 years behind bars in Indonesia, rests on the judgment of the country’s legal experts.
