MANILA– Mapua University celebrated its 100th founding anniversary on Saturday, January 25.

 The celebration marked the pinnacle of centenary eminence and dedication to pursuing a greater time ahead for the University.

 The event was graced by the Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Senator Sonny Angara, Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Atty. Cinderella Filipina Benitez-Jaro, and President and CEO of Mapua University  Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo.

Maestrecampo expressed his overwhelming joy, saying the celebration served as a time for them to look back at the legacy of Mapua.

 “It’s a legacy of excellence and innovation; celebrating them. This is also an opportunity for us to chart our direction forward,” Maestrecampo said.

 As part of their academic approaches, he revealed that they have been doing initiatives to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in both teaching and learning.

 Maestrecampo emphasized that they are dedicated to building a legacy in a different class and leading academically. He also shared that they are having a massive training program for their faculty to introduce new technologies and develop better learning outcomes.

 SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

 Maestrecampo also revealed that Mapua University has started to offer Medicine programs since December 2024.

 Mapua’s School of Medicine, located in their campus in Makati, has welcomed its first batch composed of 14 students who will be the first to experience the state-of-the-art facilities of the program.

 “Our medicine program is actually quite different because it [introduces] a lot of technology in the teaching and the curricula of the medicine program,” he said.
