(PhilHealth) on Monday announced that it would increase by 50 percent almost all of its benefit packages starting January 2025.</p><p>The announcement came despite a controversial decision to cut government subsidies for the state health insurer for this year.</p><p>Dr. Israel Francis Pargas, Senior Vice President for Health and Finance Policy Sector of PhilHealth, said that the hike covers 9,000 case rate packages for its members.</p><p>“Kung matatandaan ninyo, noong February of 2024, nag-increase na po tayo ng 30 percent, and ngayon po bago matapos ang taon, ay nag-increase tayo ng another round, this time 50 percent naman po sa around 9,000 benefit packages starting January 1 admissions,” Pargas said in a televised briefing. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2024/12/17/philhealth-says-no-hike-in-contribution-rate-despite-subsidy-slash-1953">PhilHealth says no hike in contribution rate despite zero subsidy, may even slash premium</a></div><p>“Lahat ho halos ng ating benefit packages, or yun pong ating case rates ay nag-increase ng 50 percent. Ang hindi lamang po natin naisama dito ay yun pong mga ni-rationalize natin, or in-increase natin ng hiwalay doon sa 50 percent,&quot; he said.</p><p>&quot;Katulad po halimbawa ng ating Kidney Transplantion Package na dati ay P600,000, ngayon po aabot sa P800,000 to P2 million package. O yung sa ating Heart Attack, yung Acute Myocardial Infarction na dati ay tinatawag na Angioplasty, na around P30,000 ang ating benefit package, ngayon po ay aabot na sya sa P530,000,”  Pargas added.</p><p>Meanwhile, PhilHealth will also be providing coverage for emergency outpatient services, which was earlier excluded from existing benefit packages.</p><p>“Dati meron tayong primary care, meron tayong inpatient care. Pero yung mga pasyente na nadadala sa emergency room pero hindi naa-admit, wala po silang benepisyo before,&quot; Pargas said. </p><p>“Pero ngayon po we came out already with an emergency care package na kung saan yung ating mga miyembro na madadala sa emergency room dahil sa pagkakasakit o karamdaman, pero hindi kailangan ma-confine but rather after a few hours of stay ay pauuwiin na po, yun po ay ating iko-cover at babayaran na po natin sya,” he said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2024/12/17/philhealth-to-be-more-conscious-of-spending-after-anniversary-budget-issues-0130">PhilHealth to be more conscious of spending after anniversary celebration budget issues</a></div><p>Pargas said PhilHealth would also begin coverage for preventive oral health services, such as oral screening, oral prophylaxis, and fluoride application.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/1/2/coa-urges-doh-to-resolve-p1-3-b-worth-of-hospital-claims-denied-returned-by-philhealth-1518">COA urges DOH to resolve P1.3 billion worth of hospital claims denied, returned by PhilHealth</a></div><p>“Yun pong ating primary healthcare is what we call Konsulta, na kung saan ay meron tayong libreng konsultasyon, merong 15 laboratory na libre na makukuha, at 21 drugs na makukuha rin na libre,&quot; the official said.</p><p>&quot;Ngayon inexpand po natin sya at kasama na ngayon ang ating tinatawag na dental healthcare...
