MANILA -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon on Tuesday said he is not worried about the geopolitical risks of Chinese firms bidding on the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge due to safeguards in place.&quot;To be quite honest, hindi ako masyadong concerned. Bakit ako hindi concerned? Kasi, ang nagmamanage ng bidding na ‘yan, ang tumutulong sa atin ay ang Asian Development Bank… nakabantay ang ADB dyan,&quot; Dizon told reporters during the Manila Overseas Press Club Infra Night.&quot;Meron naman tayong safeguards dyan. Hindi pwedeng blacklisted, hindi pwedeng may bad record,&quot; he said.Dizon also noted that some Chinese-led infrastructure projects in the Philippines have been completed properly.&quot;Yung ibang mga proyekto ng mga Chinese companies, tulad halimbawa nung iba naying tulay sa Metro Manila, yung Binondo Bridge, yung Pantaleon Bridge sa Mandaluyong sa may rockwell, lahat ‘yan gawa ng mga Chinese contractors pero maaayos naman,&quot; he said.Among the eight bidders for the bridge are Beijing Urban Construction Group Co. Ltd., China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., China Wu Yi Co. Ltd. / Fujian Road &amp; Bridge Construction Group Co. Ltd. (Consortium), Hunan Road &amp; Bridge Construction Group Ltd., and the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Joint Venture.The project&#x27;s Contract Package 1, covering the construction of the Bataan land approach, has an approved agency estimate of P7.25 billion.
