Secretary Ellaine Javier Agupitan via Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>2nd UPDATE</strong>) — Seven individuals were reported dead due to the effects of tropical storm Ramil, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/10/19/5-family-members-killed-after-tree-falls-on-their-house-in-quezon-1735">5 family members killed after tree falls on their house in Quezon</a></div><p>NDRRMC said the 7 reported casualties are still up for validation.</p><p>Meanwhile, 1 was reported injured, and 2 are missing due to the same weather disturbance.</p><p>The agency said a total of 37,825 families or 133,196 persons were affected by Ramil. Of which, 2,260 families or 7,511 persons were served inside 166 evacuation centers, and 1,720 families or 6,199 persons were served elsewhere.</p><p>The Office of Civil Defense later said in a public briefing that over 32,000 families remained affected by &quot;Ramil.&quot; Some 9,000 individuals or 3,000 families were still in evacuation centers, according to OCD Spokesperson Junie Castillo.</p><p>Castillo assured the public that because of cases of influenza-like illnesses, they are coordinating with the Department of Health (DOH) regarding health concerns. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/10/20/ramil-dumps-more-than-a-month-s-rain-in-eastern-samar-capiz-0828">Ramil dumps more than a month’s rain in Eastern Samar, Capiz</a></div><p>&quot;Tinitingnan nga din po ito dahil wala pa naman pong—inuulit po natin from the DOH—na wala pa naman pong epidemic dito sa atin pagdating dito sa mga sakit na ito. Pero just the same, dahil nga tumataas iyong numerong iyon, lalo po natin itong binabantayan doon sa mga evacuation centers para hindi naman po magkahawaan doon,&quot; said Castillo.</p><p>Ramil, which formed over the Philippine Sea early Friday morning, made four landfalls during its passage.</p><p>It exited the Philippine area of responsibility at 5:10 a.m. Monday.</p><p>PAGASA said Ramil dumped more than a month’s worth of rain in two stations in Visayas.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>DSWD ASSISTANCE</strong></div><p>Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development says it has extended over P5.4-million worth of humanitarian assistance to individuals and families affected by &quot;Ramil.&quot;</p><p>The biggest amount of assistance was distributed to Western Visayas, which received over P3-M worth of food and non-food items (FNFIs).</p><p>Central Luzon received P1.1-M in aid, while P1-M worth of aid were given to affected families in the Bicol Region.</p><p>Some 3,778 families or 12,550 persons are currently taking temporary shelter in 237 evacuation centers in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas, while some 2,719 families or 9,962 individuals are temporarily staying with their relatives or friends. -- <strong>with a report from Job Manahan, ABS-CBN News</strong></p>
