Markus Lacanilao is pushing for the lifetime revocation of driver&#x27;s licenses of individuals involved in recent road rage incidents, citing a disturbing rise in such cases.“Lahat ng masasangkot sa road rage, nire-recommend ko na ma-revoke for life,” Lacanilao said.In a media press conference, he revealed that the tricycle driver who allegedly assaulted a student in Tarlac City failed to attend the scheduled hearing. “Sa unang pangyayari muna, yung tricycle driver na nanakit ng estudyante doon sa Tarlac City ay hindi siya nag-attend sa hearing. Instead yung pumunta ay yung tatay niya,” he said.Meanwhile, in the road rage case in Biñan, Laguna, the complainant was present, but the respondent was absent. “Doon naman sa road rage sa Biñan, nag-attend yung complainant. This is the reason why na gusto ko rin magsalita initially para masabi ko rin yung mga kinahinatnan ng mga pinaggagawa nila,” he said.Lacanilao confirmed that he has already recommended the lifetime revocation of the licenses of both the Biñan and Tarlac drivers. “Ngayon, I’m already recommending na i-revoke na for life yung driver’s license ng involved sa Biñan, Laguna incident na at doon sa Tarlac City na nanakit sa batang estudyante,” he stated.He emphasized that due process was followed, including suspension and hearings for both parties, saying: &quot;So, dinadaan lang namin sa proseso; nagkaroon ng suspension, tapos nag-hearing kami para patas lang sa parehong panig.&quot;The LTO chief warned motorists against reckless behavior, stressing the severity of the consequences. “Isang mensahe ito para sa mga nagmamaneho sa kalsada na huwag kayo magpadalos-dalos kasi mabigat ang parusa sa ganyan. Kaya lang, hindi dapat nila ginagawa ‘yun,” he said.“Pero masyadong malalakas ang loob eh, mga wala kasing disiplina kaya ganyan. Naghihigpit tayo na kapag ang isang tao ay involved sa road rage, ma-revoke ka na for life at wala ka nang karapatan magmaneho,” Lacanilao added.
