<p>MANILA – Malacanang on Saturday described former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co’s statements as “lies” and part of a “propaganda,” noting inconsistencies in his statements and contradicting facts. </p><p>In a statement, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the former lawmaker already admitted to inserting some items in the 2025 budget, which she said changed the National Expenditure Program (NEP). </p><p>Castro said the President himself vetoed around P194 billion worth of line items in the 2025 budget.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/15/zaldy-co-senate-ombudsman-should-probe-romualdez-and-marcos-over-alleged-p100-b-insertion-1249"><strong>Zaldy Co: Senate, Ombudsman should probe Romualdez and Marcos over alleged P100-B ‘insertion’ </strong></a> </div><p>“Kaya nag-veto ang Pangulo ng line items sa 2025 budget ng halagang P194 billion. Bakit mag-uutos si Secretary Mina ng DBM na mag-insert na 100 billion pesos na proyekto kung tatanggalin at i-vi-veto ang mga proyektong ito?” </p><p>Castro also noted some glaring inconsistencies in Co’s statement and photos he shared.</p><p>“Sa pinakita niya mga maleta ay mas lalong nalubog sa kumunoy ng kasinungalingan si Zaldy Co, pansinin ang mga pinost na pictures. May petsa na January 2024, May 2024, June 2024, August 2024, at October 2024. </p><p>The undersecretary noted that Co claimed he talked to Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman when the bicam process began in 2024.</p><p>“Nag-open ang bicam noong November 2024. Kaya paano madideliver di umano ng kanyang mga tao ang mga maleta noong January, May, June, August at October 2024 kung di pa man nagsisimula ang Bicam Conference para sa budget 2025?” she said. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/15/romualdez-says-co-s-allegations-do-not-hold-water-in-court-1750"><strong>Romualdez says Co&#x27;s allegations &#x27;do not hold water in court&#x27; </strong></a> </div><p>“Saan niya kinuha ang pera noong mga buwan ng taong 2024 kung sa Budget 2025 manggagaling ang diumanong mga deliveries at mga maleta lamang ang pinakitang ito?” she added.</p><p>Co, she said, must be investigated so authorities would know “where he is getting his lies.”</p><p>“Sa sinabi niyang wala siyang kinupit na halaga kahit na nasa kamay niya ang pag-i-insert ng mga proyekto sa Budget 2025. Patunayan niya ito lalo pat nagsusumigaw ang mga yaman niyan,” she added.</p><div> </div>
