Firefighters were still dousing a devastating fire on November 27 which ripped through a Hong Kong high-rise complex, killing at least 44 people and leaving hundreds missing according to authorities.<em> Peter Parks, AFP </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong on Saturday said it is still searching for 13 Filipinos listed among the residents of the Hong Kong high-rise that caught fire Wednesday this week.</p><p>“Ang hinahanap namin ngayon I think nasa 13 na lang for verification,” Philippine Consul General in Hong Kong Romulo Victor Israel Jr. told DZMM Teleradyo.</p><p>(We are still searching for 13, for verification.)</p><p>The government’s database recorded 83 Filipinos with addresses in the inflamed Wang Fuk Court residential estate in Tai Po district in Hong Kong. </p><p>The other 70 have been verified safe, including those who already came back to the Philippines or moved to a different address prior to the incident, said Israel.</p><p>He said the Philippine authorities are still searching for <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/28/1-filipina-still-missing-after-hong-kong-fire-dmw-1024">one Filipina</a> who might have been inside the building when it was set ablaze.</p><p>“May isang kababayan tayo na hinahanap. There’s a possibility na kasama nga sya dun sa mga nasawi pero we are still verifying at this moment,” he said.</p><p>(We are searching for one Filipino. There&#x27;s a possibility that she is among the deceased but we are still verifying at this moment.)</p><p>Israel said that the missing overseas Filipino worker’s (OFW) family member, with her employer, will be checking whether or not she is among the unidentified bodies.</p><p>The fire has taken <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2025/11/28/hong-kong-blaze-death-toll-rises-to-128-1542">128 lives</a> as of the latest report.</p><p>The Filipinos affected by the fire are staying in the temporary shelters provided by the Hong Kong government, according to the Philippine envoy.</p><p>“I believe meron pa silang plano to rehome yung ating mga workers and give them the chance to look for another opportunity to work sakaling hindi na sila kayang i-absorb ng dati nilang employers,” he said.</p><p>(I believe they also have a plan to rehome our workers and give them the chance to look for another opportunity to work in case their employers cannot absorb them anymore.)</p><p>Israel assured that the Filipina who was previously reported in a hospital’s intensive care unit remains in a stable condition. </p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/world/2025/11/27/what-we-know-about-hong-kong-s-deadly-high-rise-fire-1115"><strong>What we know about Hong Kong&#x27;s deadly high-rise fire</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/cfMfE-SbcaA?si=gDj5uQucVtxjkTxw" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>
