MANILA - The Archdiocese of Manila has urged schools, churches, and institutions to provide temporary shelter to the homeless as Typhoon Uwan nears the country.The Archdiocese&#x27;s Ministry with Persons in Street Dwelling Situations called on schools, churches or any establishment with roof, safe space, rest rooms and clean to help those in need of temporary shelter.&quot;Kindly offer your spaces for our Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations during this time of need,&quot; the archdiocese said in a statement.It said interested parties may contact the ministry at: 0960 210 3666, 0960 309 5965, 0917 623 6172.At 10 p.m. Saturday, the typhoon was located 380 km east of Virac, Catanduanes with winds of 155 kph and gusts up to 190 kph. It is moving west northwestward at 35 kph.Uwan will bring significant rainfall over Eastern Visayas and Luzon, with up to torrential rains expected in:• Northern Samar, Bicol, Quezon through Sunday evening• Northern and Central Luzon Sunday evening to Monday eveningWidespread and serious flooding and landslides are expected in many areas.Uwan is expected to develop into a super typhoon.
