Nandoon pa rin siya because she submitted herself to the custody of NBI voluntarily while pending the issuance of warrant of arrest,&quot; NBI Acting Director Angelito Magno said in an interview at the Department of Justice, where he attended the preliminary investigation into several flood control projects.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/10/tv-patrol-exclusive-sarah-discaya-nilinaw-na-nagpasailalim-sa-nbi-custody-para-sa-kaligtasan-2047">Sarah Discaya feels &#x27;safe&#x27; in NBI custody while awaiting possible warrant</a></div><p>Once the court issues the arrest warrant, it will be served to Discaya immediately, Magno said. </p><p>The booking process will be conducted in Manila, after which she may be brought to Davao Occidental to face the court that issued the warrant.</p><p>However, Magno clarified that in the absence of an arrest warrant, Discaya cannot be legally detained by the NBI and is technically free to leave its custody.</p><p>&quot;Since wala pang warrant of arrest, we cannot legally hold her,&quot; Magno added.</p><p>Asked why Discaya chose to surrender voluntarily to the NBI, Magno said the move was coordinated through her legal counsel, though the specific reason for her decision has yet to be publicly explained.</p><p>&quot;In-arrange iyon through their lawyers.
