<p>MANILA - The medical examination report of former President Rodrigo Duterte conducted by a panel of experts appointed by the Pre-Trial Chamber I to assess his fitness to stand trial has been &quot;provided&quot; to his legal team, according to defense lead counsel Nicholas Kaufman.</p><p>“The Defence has been provided with the reports of the Court appointed panel of experts,” Kaufman said in a message to ABS-CBN News Saturday, December 6.</p><p>However, the content of the medical reports are confidential and the parties to Duterte’s case “have been invited to make any observations on them” by December 12.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/5/bato-could-take-blame-for-drug-war-deaths-to-free-duterte-from-icc-sereno-1231"><strong>Bato could take blame for drug war deaths to free Duterte from ICC — Sereno</strong></a></div><p>The panel of doctors was given a December 5 deadline to submit their medical evaluation on the former president.</p><p>The defense, prosecution and Office of the Public Counsel for Victims were given until December 12 to submit their observations. </p><p>Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte in a chance interview at the Hague, the Netherlands on December 5 said her visit with the patriarch Duterte was “okay”.</p><p>“Okay lang naman ‘yung bisita. It was a good day today,” she stated.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/28/icc-chamber-rejects-duterte-s-appeal-for-interim-release-1817"><strong>ICC appeals chamber rejects Duterte&#x27;s interim release bid</strong></a></div><p>ICC Assistant to Counsel Kristina Conti had said that the decision is expected to be made next year, as the ICC will go on break on December 12 until January 5.</p><p>“Kaya kung sa January sasabihin nila kunwari fit to stand trial, ise-set na nila ‘yung confirmation of charges hearing at sa earliest sa nakikita po natin, February posibleng mag-resume o mai-reschedule,” she said in a forum on November 29.</p><p>Duterte was arrested on March 11  on his arrival from Hong Kong at the request of the ICC as part of its probe into his &quot;war on drugs&quot; that defined his presidency.</p><p>The ICC warrant for Duterte&#x27;s arrest said that as president, Duterte allegedly created, funded, and armed death squads that carried out murders of purported drug users and dealers.</p><p>He was brought to The Hague in the Netherlands on the same day he was arrested.</p><p>Duterte on March 14 appeared via video link before ICC judges. </p><p>Duterte’s confirmation of charges hearing, which was supposed to be held last September 23, was postponed to a later date, citing a request from Duterte&#x27;s defense team.</p><p> The ICC Pre-Trial Chamber has rejected the request of Duterte&#x27;s defense team for his interim release.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qXBleBgGKkA??si=T8ugffvJKF_4-Cpa&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
