<div>[[PHOTO ALBUM]]</div><p>Thousands of protesters gathered on Tuesday to mark the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution at the People Power Monument in Quezon City.  </p><p>Malacanang earlier declared the anniversary of the revolution that ousted Ferdinand Marcos Sr. a special working holiday. Hundreds of academic institutions nationwide however, canceled classes or shifted to alternative modes on Tuesday in what some say is an act of defiance against historical revisionism. </p><p>Palace Press Officer Claire Castro in a briefing said the administration <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/25/palace-no-intention-to-fade-memories-of-edsa-revolt-1354">would not hinder any organization</a> or institution from commemorating the 39th anniversary of non-violent civil protest. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/25/commemoration-of-39th-people-power-anniversary-transcends-generations-1234">Commemoration of 39th EDSA People Power Anniversary transcends generations</a></div>
