Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The House of Representatives, led by Speaker Martin Romualdez, votes to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte on February 5, 2025 after 215 of 306 House members signed an impeachment complaint at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City. <em>Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Over 200 members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday signed an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, making her the first Philippine vice president to be impeached by the House.</p><p>This, after more than a month of seeming inaction on complaints filed against her by members of civil society.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/5/house-impeaches-vp-sara-duterte-1551">House impeaches VP Sara Duterte</a></div><p>At the House plenary session, 215 of 306 House members supported a fresh complaint against Duterte, whose spending of confidential funds has come under scrutiny.</p><p>The House of Representatives released the list of signatories on the fourth impeachment complaint.</p><p>First on the list is House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, who supported Duterte’s impeachment, despite his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s earlier statement that he will not interfere in the impeachment process.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/2/5/senado-nag-adjourn-nang-hindi-tinatalakay-ang-impeachment-ni-vp-duterte-2135">Palace says Marcos will not interfere with VP Sara Duterte impeachment</a></div><p>Next on the list of signatories are Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr., and Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe.</p><p>TINGOG Party-list Yedda Romualdez, who is also the wife of House Speaker Martin Romualdez, also supported the impeachment complaint.</p><p>Rep. Ralph Tulfo and his mother Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo were also among the signatories, along with Rep. Aniela Tolentino, who is the niece of Senator Francis Tolentino.</p><p>House Speaker Romualdez was the last to sign the complaint.</p><p>Among those who did not support the complaint were: former president and Pampanga Second District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, Cavite Second District Rep. Lani Mercado, Cavite First District Rep. Jolo Revilla, Agimat Party-list Rep. Bryan Revilla, and CIBAC Party-list Rep. Eddie Villanueva.</p><p>It must be noted that some of the lawmakers who did not sign the complaint have relatives in the Senate — who will be part of the impeachment case as senator-judge, should the case proceed to trial — including Rep. Villar’s mother, Sen. Cynthia Villar; the Revilla’s father, Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr., and Rep. Villanueva’s son, Sen.
