MANILA — Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary Paul Mercado has been named as the agency’s officer in charge, Malacañang said on Monday.The appointment was announced by Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro to reporters in a text message.Mercado — DICT’s undersecretary for special concerns — will lead the agency days after Secretary Ivan John Uy tendered his resignation.Malacañang has yet to provide further information about Uy’s resignation and Mercado’s designation.
