Malapitan builds lead over Trillanes in Caloocan mayoral race

MANILA — Incumbent Mayor Along Malapitan continues to lead the Caloocan mayoral race with a margin of over 100,000 votes over former senator Antonio Trillanes IV. Based on the partial unofficial results from the Comelec as of 9:59 p.m., Malapitan has 330,499 votes while Trillanes has 220,424 votes, with over 75 percent of votes in the city counted.Malapitan&#x27;s running mate Karina Teh also leads with 333,510 votes while Trillanes&#x27; running mate PJ Malonzo has 188,682 votes.The incumbent mayor is the son of former mayor Oscar malapitan who served for three terms until 2022.More details to follow.
