<p>MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte said Monday she was &quot;ready&quot; for any verdict of the Senate impeachment trial, which is tentatively set for July. </p><p>Duterte was impeached in February by the House of Representatives amid the growing rift between her family and the Marcos clan, her former ally. </p><p>Speaking before reporters <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/5/12/halalan-2025-vp-sara-duterte-votes-in-davao-city-0905">after she cast her vote in Davao City</a>, her family&#x27;s home turf, the vice president said she was prepared for the outcome of the impeachment trial at the Senate that could determine her political future.</p><p>Aside from being removed from office, a guilty verdict by the senator-judges could see her permanently barred from public office.</p><p>&quot;Hindi ko naman siya tiningnan na gano&#x27;n, hindi ko tiningnan na nangampanya ako para sa issues ko o sa issue ni dating pangulong Duterte, dahil ang isyu ko lang naman ay impeachment,&quot; said the 46-year-old Duterte, dressed in a black polo shirt.</p><p>&quot;Sinasabi ko nga na &#x27;yung impeachment naman kahit ano&#x27;ng mangyari diyan, guilty or acquittal, handa na ako sa kung ano&#x27;ng mangyayari.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/9/midterm-elections-hold-key-to-future-for-marcos-jr-sara-duterte-1651">Midterm elections hold key to future for Marcos Jr., Sara Duterte</a></div><p>Duterte previously said she was &quot;seriously considering&quot; running for president in the 2028 elections — a remark which <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/1/15/palace-official-on-sara-dutertes-2028-remark-too-premature-but-its-her-privilege-1624">a Palace official called &quot;too premature.&quot;</a></p><p>The vice president said Monday that she was leaving the chances of 10 Duterte-backed senatorial aspirants up to God. </p><p>She said she told her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, however, that &quot;more than two&quot; candidates who had their backing could secure a Senate seat.</p><p>Rodrigo Duterte was arrested and transferred to the International Criminal Court in March to face crimes against humanity charges over his deadly drug war.</p><p>He is seeking to return as Davao City mayor. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/12/philippines-heads-to-polls-with-marcos-duterte-feud-centre-stage-0904">Philippines heads to polls with Marcos-Duterte feud center stage</a></div><div><strong>— With a report from Agence France-Presse; Katrina Domingo, ABS-CBN News</strong></div>
