Isko Moreno returns to Manila’s helm, reclaims city hall

MANILA— Former Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has officially reclaimed the city’s top post after securing a decisive win in the 2025 mayoral elections, according to final results released by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Moreno, who previously served as mayor from 2019 to 2022, defeated incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna by a significant margin.The victory marked a political comeback for Moreno following an unsuccessful presidential bid in 2022. In an interview, Moreno emphasized his administration’s focus on restoring cleanliness and maintaining peace and order in the city.<div> <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/13/lacuna-concedes-defeat-to-isko-moreno-1615">Lacuna concedes defeat to Isko Moreno</a></div> “We need everybody&#x27;s participation, people of Maynila, we need you because it is our city.
