Lyza Aquino, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The BIR seizes undocumented vape products and accessories in Manila, May 26, 2025. <em>Lyza Aquino, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) seized around P15 million worth of illicit vape products and paraphernalia in a house in Tondo, Manila, Monday evening.</p><p>BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui said that they conducted the raid after receiving information that the house is being used as a warehouse for the said illegal items.</p><p>The said vape products were discovered without the mandatory BIR-issued excise stamps which is a violation of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997.</p><p>&quot;Nag-raid tayo dahil sa nakita natin na may binebentang mga illegal na produkto dito, illicit vape products and illegal vape paraphernalia, pinasok natin at nakita natin,&quot; said Lumagui.</p><p>&quot;Ito yung mga vape products, pods, ito yung mga hindi rehistrado at walang mga selyo, at hindi rin rehistrado sa BIR. We also coordinated with DTI, pati yung mga paraphernalia ay hindi rin rehistrado,&quot; he added.</p><p>Initial investigation from authorities revealed that the said items are being sold online for a cheaper price.</p><p>&quot;Ang sigurado tayo mas mababa, mas mura [ang presyo] pero hindi ibig sabihin na mas mura eh kinakagat na ng mga consumers, dahil hindi natin alam ang kalidad ng mga produktong ito. Hindi dumaan sa DTI, hindi dumaan sa inspeksyon. baka lason na yang nilalanghap nila,&quot; Lumagui explained.</p><p>&quot;Tingin nila siguro na hindi natin sila kayang hulihin kaya naglipana sila sa mga online stores pero ngayon ipapakita natin na hindi rin kayo ligtas sa pagbebenta online. Ito nga hindi naman talaga warehouse ito kundi bahay ito,&quot; he added.</p><p>The BIR is urging the public to report illegal vape sales conducted online.</p><p>&quot;Unang una, makikita agad natin, pagka ang mga vape products ay walang selyo. Yung mga tax stamps, sa ngayon yung makikita natin yung tamarraw, yun yung patunay na bayad yan ng excise tax yan sa BIR. Pag walang stamp yan, ilegal agad yan,&quot; Lumagui said.</p><p>&quot;Pagdating sa mga devices din makikita natin na sineselyuhan yan ng DTI.
