Jesus Crispin Remulla of the Department of Justice (DOJ) breezes through the confirmation process of the Committee on Justice and Judicial Bar Council of the Commission on Appointments on September 14, 2022. <em>Senate PRIB handout/File. </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said he will ask the Department of Foreign Affairs why former Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque was able to obtain three Philippine passports.<br id="isPasted"/><br/>“We will ask the DFA siyempre sila ang gumagawa niyan hindi naman ang DOJ,” Remulla said.<br/><br/>Remulla earlier said that he received reports that Roque supposedly has three passports, as the DOJ initiated the cancellation of Roque’s passport before the Angeles City Regional Trial Court.<br/><br/>Roque is facing qualified and regular human trafficking cases before the Angeles City RTC in connection with illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/26/doj-initiates-cancellation-of-harry-roque-s-passport-1243">DOJ initiates cancellation of Harry Roque’s passport</a></div><p>“Ipapahalukay namin iyan kasi we are petitioning for the cancellation of his passport kasi nga fugitive from the law na siya,” Remulla said.</p><p>In a statement however, Roque denied using more than one passport.</p><p>“For the record, I am currently using one regular passport, because the other regular one (still current) has no more blank pages,” Roque said.</p><p>Roque noted that he was no longer using his diplomatic passport since he is no longer a government official.</p><p>He said the DFA would know that his previous one was already cancelled because there were no blank pages left. </p><p>Roque also said his passport is presently with the Dutch authorities as part of his asylum application.</p><p>“Mga kababayan, mag-ingat po tayo sa naglipanang fake news. Itotodo na nila ang paninira sa akin,” Roque said.<br/><br/>Remulla was at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 to check the improvements in the immigration check-in counters for faster movement of travellers, both Filipinos and foreigners.<br/><br/>The DOJ chief noted the efforts of the Philippine government and the New Naia Infra Corporation to add more e-gates for the convenience of passengers.<br/><br/>“Para iyong proseso ng identifIcation ng tao, objective na, wala ng human intervention mas mabilis na,” Remulla said. </p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/L-b6M6oySa4?si=pULHg_FBBeovOs9D" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div>
