And so when there’s crucifixion, there’s blood. So it’s a bloodbath, my bloodbath,&quot; she said.</p><p>“I’m just sad that many people refuse to understand the context wherein I give my statements,” she added.</p><p>The vice president earlier said that she prefers her impeachment trial to push through because she wants a “bloodbath,” raising concerns among members of the House and Senate.</p><p>Iloilo 3rd District Representative Lorenz Defensor, for one, called it a &quot;terrible example to the youth.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/19/lawmaker-blasts-sara-duterte-for-seeking-bloodbath-in-impeachment-trial-1921">Lawmaker blasts Sara Duterte for seeking ‘bloodbath’ in impeachment trial</a></div><p>“I think many misunderstood the word ‘bloodbath.’ Many did not want to understand, refused to understand what it means. We have always said that the impeachment is a political persecution. It is the administration going after me, after I resigned from the Cabinet,” Duterte said.</p><p>The press conference came alongside a rally staged outside the Scheveningen Prison at The Hague today supporting the former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is still under the custody of the International Criminal Court.</p><p>Senators Robin Padilla and Imee Marcos also spoke at the campaign rally. </p><p>The presentation of the Articles of impeachment is scheduled in the Senate on June 11, two days before the 19th Congress adjourns on June 13.</p><p>This was originally set on June 2 but was pushed back to “tackle priority legislative measures before the 19th Congress adjourns,&quot; according to Senate President Chiz Escudero.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/29/senate-pushes-back-start-of-sara-duterte-impeachment-proceedings-1835">Senate pushes back start of Sara Duterte impeachment proceedings</a></div><p>As much as Duterte believes the impeachment trial will no longer push through, given the lack of time, she said her legal team keep themselves prepared. </p><div><strong>‘CANCELLING ROQUE’S PASSPORT IS POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED’</strong></div><p>Meanwhile, Duterte claimed that the Department of Justice’s cancellation of Harry Roque’s passport was “politically-motivated” because of his support for the former president Duterte.</p><p>“Naaawa ako kay Atty. Roque dahil sa totoo lang pakiramdam ko, ang dahilan ng persecution sa kanya ay dahil sa pagpapakita niya ng suporta sa dating pangulong Duterte,” she said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/5/26/doj-initiates-cancellation-of-harry-roque-s-passport-1243">DOJ initiates cancellation of Harry Roque’s passport</a></div><p>Duterte added she is confident that Roque can overcome the accusations toward him.</p><p>The Angeles City Regional Trial Court has ordered Roque’s arrest for his alleged involvement in some regular and qualified human trafficking cases, alongside fellow individuals associated with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub Lucky South 99.</p>
