Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday raised doubts over the results of the recent midterm elections.

In her speech during the celebration of Philippine Independence, Duterte claimed that candidates from their senatorial slates like Jayvee Villanueva Hinlo, Jr., Jimmy Bondoc, and Richard Mata should have won Senate seats.

Hinlo, Atty. Bondoc, Atty. Mata? Kasi po para sa akin at alam kong totoo, nanalo po sila sa eleksyon noong nakaraan," she said.

Duterte said she has consulted information technology experts regarding the conduct of the recent polls. She claimed that the unnamed experts also questioned the results.

She urged PDP Laban to question how the conduct of elections was held.

Duterte said she also based her observations on the 2022 elections.

In a statement, Commission on Elections Chairperson George Garcia did not comment on the allegations and said Duterte is free to express her opinion.

“No comment po. An expression of opinion by anyone in a democracy is free and therefore should be highly respected,” he said.
