ICC</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Former president Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday marked his 100th day in detention for his case at the International Criminal Court, with his son Davao City First District Paolo Duterte maintaining his father’s innocence. </p><p>“He is not a criminal,” the younger Duterte said of his father. “He is a man who gave his life to serve this nation, who walked the most difficult paths so that we may live in peace, free from fear, and with dignity.”</p><p>“He stood up against the enemies of the Republic, and now he suffers alone — far from home, far from his people,” the lawmaker said in a statement. </p><p>The Duterte patriarch stands accused of crimes against humanity over his years-long campaign against drug users and dealers that rights groups say killed thousands.</p><p>The 80-year-old was arrested in Manila on March 11, flown to the Netherlands that same night and has been held at the ICC&#x27;s detention unit at Scheveningen Prison since.</p><p>“As a son, the pain is immeasurable. As a Filipino, the injustice is unbearable,” Rep. Duterte said of his father’s detention.</p><p>He asked the public to remember his father and “pray for his strength, for his health, and for his freedom.”</p><p>“Light a candle, say his name, and let your love be felt across the walls of that foreign prison,” Rep. Duterte said.</p><p>“We believe in justice. We believe in truth.
