Jack Guez, AFP </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is calling for peaceful dialogue and diplomacy as tensions continue to rise between Israel and Iran, Malacañang said Monday. </p><p>Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro shared the President&#x27;s message after the United States joined Israel&#x27;s strikes on Iran&#x27;s nuclear facilities.  </p><p>&quot;Ramdam po ng Pangulo, ramdam po ng gobyerno ang alalahanin ng mga liders ng iba&#x27;t ibang bansa sa umiinit na tensyon sa rehiyon. Ang panawagan din po ng Pangulo ay magkaroon po ng mapayapang pag-uusap at diplomasya para maibsan ang lumalalang hindi pagkasundo,&quot; she said. </p><p>&quot;Kailangan din po manindigan para sa pandaigdigang kapayapaan para maging matatag po ang global community o pandaigdigang komunidad. Yan po ang mensahe ng Pangulo,&quot; Castro added. </p><p>Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the President allayed fears of possible impact on the Philippines, including high fuel prices.  </p><p>&quot;Unang-una, ang gusto iparating ng Pangulo, handa po tayo sa anumang mangyayari. At lahat po ng pangangailangan ng taongbayan ay tutugunan po ng pamahalaan. At huwag po sila mag-alala dahil nag-tatrabaho ang gobyerno para sa ating lahat,&quot; Castro said. </p><p>The Palace Press Officer said the increase in fuel prices is just one possible effect of the ongoing conflict, citing several industries could be affected.  </p><p>&quot;Magkakaroon ito ng domino effect. Mabibigay ko ang detalye kung ano po ang mga plano bukas,&quot; Castro said. </p><p>The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it was finalizing guidelines of the fuel subsidy program, which aims to give financial assistance to affected stakeholders like public utility vehicle drivers.  </p><p>The approved guidelines are expected to include the official list of beneficiaries, amount to be given per beneficiary and the distribution.  </p><p>Marcos directed DOTr to speed up the distribution of the subsidy to help cushion the blow of the looming big time oil price hike especially to drivers.    </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/6/23/oil-firms-agree-to-staggered-fuel-price-hikes-energy-dept-1351">Oil firms agree to staggered fuel price hikes: Energy dept</a></div><p>The Department of Energy has given the DOTr the go signal to tap the P2.5 billion allocation for the fuel subsidy program under the 2025 budget.   </p><p>DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon shunned possible talks of fare increase due to the conflict, citing its additional burden to commuters.   </p><p>The Department of Energy (DOE) said on Monday oil companies agreed to stagger the implementation of the supposed big time increase on Tuesday.   </p><p>DOE said the firms must submit their implementation scheme, which includes a breakdown of price adjustments no later than 6 pm today.  </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/6/23/oil-prices-spike-after-us-strikes-on-iran-1221">Oil prices spike after US strikes on Iran</a></div><div> </div><div><strong>REPATRIATION OF PINOYS CONTINUE</strong></div><div> </div><p>The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is leading efforts to bring home Filipinos seeking repatriation from Israel and Iran. </p><p>&quot;Sa ngayon, nasa Amman, Jordan na po ang ating team at sasalubungin ang unang batch na mga Pilipino na ilikas mula sa Israel. Inaasahan din masisimulan ang repatriation ng ating mga kababayan mula sa Iran sa mga darating na araw,&quot; Castro said.</p><p>&quot;Kasabay nito, tuloy-tuloy ang pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan. May mga nakahandang temporary shelter, food at financial assistance at lahat ng kinakailangang suporta para sa kanilang ligtas at maayos na pagbabalik,&quot; she added.</p><p>Castro said the government continues to monitor and coordinate the situation to ensure Filipinos are brought back safely.</p><p>&quot;Muli po nating hinihikayat ang ating mga kababayan sa Israel at Iran na makipag-ugnayan sa ating mga embahada at konsulado para sa inyong kaligtasan at gabay,&quot; she said.</p><p>Around 250 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have requested assistance to return to the Philippine.
