Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News/File"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte lead the Basic Education Report 2024 at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City on January 25, 2024. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The state of the nation is “dire”, Vice President Sara Duterte said on Wednesday, as she criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s “frustrating” policies. </p><p>Marcos Jr.’s strategy of mounting photo opportunities to flaunt his administration’s programs is “frustrating,” Duterte said, accusing the President of attending more events for photo ops after his public ratings declined earlier this year.</p><p>“The state of the nation is dire, sad, and for me — personally — is frustrating… I’m just really, really, really frustrated sa mga pangyayari,” Duterte told reporters here.</p><p>“Hindi trabaho ng Presidente na mag photo op sa nahuli na drugs at mag photo op sa pagsira ng nahuli na drugs... Hindi kasi ito photo op, trabaho ito,” she said.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/6/25/over-p9-billion-worth-of-illegal-drugs-incinerated-in-tarlac-facility-1148">Over P9-billion worth of illegal drugs incinerated in Tarlac facility</a></div><p>The Vice President also criticized the Commander-in-Chief’s order to increase police patrols to curb criminality in communities.</p><p>“Ang daming teknolohiya na available na ngayon sa market… May drone, robot, CCTV at napakarami pang iba na pwede mong gamitin, puwede i-harness from the universe para gumaling, gumanda at umayos ang trabaho ng pulis,” she said.</p><p>“Dapat ang iniisip mo how to modernize, leverage the technology out there to improve the Philippine Police... Bakit nandoon ka pa din sa ilalagay ko ang pulis sa kanto?
