George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News/File </span></span></span></div><div><br id="isPasted"/></div><p>MANILA — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said Thursday he would reach out to Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on the alleged involvement of the judiciary in the missing sabungeros cases.</p><p>Remulla noted the testimony of one of the accused in the kidnapping and serious illegal detention cases who alleged that the judiciary had been penetrated by the mastermind.</p><p>“Ang bigat ng kalaban dito kasi ang perang iyan nakakapasok iyan even sa judiciary and that is one thing that we might have to talk with the Chief Justice about kasi mabigat ang pera ng e-sabong, hindi ito basta-bastang kalaban,” Remulla said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/6/19/six-accused-in-missing-sabungeros-filed-case-before-sc-last-may-spox-1732">6 accused in ‘missing sabungeros’ case seeking bail through SC — spox</a></div><p>Asked which part of the judiciary was possibly involved, Remulla refused to divulge details.</p><p>“Basta ang sinasabi ng mastermind, narinig ko iyong kanyang ano, in his own words, kaya natin iyan, kahit Supreme Court daw kaya niya eh sinasabi niya, kaya kakausapin natin ang Chief Justice tungkol dito,” he said.</p><p>Remulla refused to talk about the details about the mastermind behind the disappearance of the cockfight enthusiasts.</p><p>But he said there were even police officers, government officials, and individuals coming from the Visayas region.</p><p>“May grupo iyan, kasama, pero meron talagang corporate set-up iyong principal na kumikilos,” Remulla said.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/6/25/police-linked-to-missing-sabungero-case-pnp-vows-no-one-will-be-spared-2032">Police linked to missing sabungero case?
