Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday said he would not run in the 2028 elections.</p><p>&quot;May mga bagay po na hindi ko puwede sabihin noong panahon ng pangangampanya kasi baka sabihin political motive… Siyempre &#x27;pag political season, mahirap magsalita, sabihin pulitika lang yan,&quot; said Sotto, who is serving his third and final consecutive term as mayor.</p><p>&quot;Ngayon wala nang pulitika; 2028 hindi ako tatakbo. Ngayon pa lang sinasabi ko na sa inyo. Kaya malaya ako gawin kung anong tingin ko ang tama,&quot; he said at the turnover ceremony of incoming local officials.</p><p>Sotto had garnered 351,392 votes from 519 clustered precincts during the last 2025 local and national elections.    </p><p>In the same speech, Sotto called out individuals allegedly involved in illegal activities and urged them to pay their taxes.</p><p>&quot;Kailangan may managot sa mga krimen na nagaganap,&quot; said Sotto. &quot;&#x27;Yung bilyon-bilyong pisong buwis na utang ninyo sa nasyonal at lokal na pamahalaan bayaran ninyo.&quot;</p><p>The Pasig City mayor also stressed that he is willing to talk even to his detractors during the last elections.</p><p>&quot;Handa po akong makipag-usap kahit kanino, kahit sa taong siniraan ako. Kahit sa taong sinabotahe ako, kahit sa taong gumastos ng napakalaki, upang sirain ang ginagawa natin,&quot; he said. </p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
