MANILA — The International Criminal Court’s (ICC) prosecution has submitted its seventh set of evidence on the alleged crime against humanity case against former president Rodrigo Duterte.

The prosecution disclosed 129 additional items on May 30, aside from the 267 items submitted since the disclosure of evidence period began on April 30.

ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, who is now on leave for being probed for alleged misconduct, in April said the prosecution holds 130,000 items in its relativity database, which require legal review prior to disclosure.

They have until July 1 to submit their evidence that will be used at the upcoming hearing on September 23.

Duterte was arrested by the ICC on March 11 through the International Police due to his alleged crimes against humanity committed during his anti-drug program, which human rights advocates claimed has killed more than 30,000 individuals.

He has since been detained in the international court’s headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands.

In May, the ICC rejected the Duterte camp’s request to disqualify two of the three judges handling the former president’s case.
