MANILA (UPDATED) — A fallen electric post has closed traffic on part of C5-Katipunan Road in Loyola Heights in Quezon City, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said Saturday.

MMDA said in an advisory that the fallen electric post on the stretch of Katipunan in front of Ateneo de Manila University has closed the northbound lane towards the University of the Philippines and Commonwealth Avenue to traffic.

Residents of Loyola Heights report power has been cut in parts of the barangay.

Meanwhile, a fallen billboard has on the southbound lane has slowed traffic to a crawl.

MMDA said enforcers are on site but that motorists should use alternate routes.

Bad weather brought by Severe Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon has rendered some roads in Luzon and the Visayas impassable or have otherwise restricted travel due to flooding ang landslides.
