<p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — Malacanang suspended work in government offices and classes at all levels in Metro Manila and several areas on Monday afternoon due to rains from the habagat.</p><p>The suspension, effective at 1 p.m., covers the capital region, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan.</p><p>But the Palace noted that agencies responsible for basic and health services, disaster response, and other vital services “shall continue with their operations.”</p><p>“The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,&quot; it added. </p><p>The Senate also shortened work hours on Monday to just until 2:00 p.m., due to inclement weather. However, the Senate&#x27;s security and maintenance personnel are not covered by the shortened work hours.</p><p>Meanwhile, the House of Representatives announced a suspension of work at 4:00 p.m.</p><p>&quot;Only essential personnel, as determined by their respective Deputy Secretaries General or the Sergeant-at-Arms, shall render service,&quot; said House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.</p><p>Meanwhile, several local government units also announced the suspension of classes on Monday, July 21, due to the inclement weather.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>ALL LEVELS </strong></div><p><em></em>Dasol and Rosales in Pangasinan</p><p>Pampanga</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>PRE-SCHOOL UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL</strong></div><div><em></em></div><p><em>Atok, Benguet (</em>face-to-face classes only; public and private)</p><p><em>Basista, Pangasinan</em> (face-to-face classes only; public and private)</p><div><em>Pampanga</em></div><p>Sto.
