Pabalate, PPA pool </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Department of Social Welfare and Development has provided over P45 million worth of humanitarian assistance to families affected by tropical storm Crising and southwest monsoon in the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Soccsksargen. </p><p>Some 7,500 families or more than 26,000 individuals were in evacuation centers. </p><p>Meanwhile, another 16,000 families or over 70,000 individuals displaced by the extreme weather were staying in the houses of friends and family.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/7/21/habagat-to-stir-more-rains-lpa-spotted-off-luzon-0932">Habagat to stir more rains; LPA spotted off Luzon</a></div><p>DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said that the biggest number of evacuees were in the province of Negros Occidental, where 3,400 families were staying in 91 evacuation sites.</p><p>“And inaasahan natin na tataas pa ang bilang na ito sapagkat may mga request pa tayo na natatanggap mula sa mga iba’t ibang lokal na pamahalaan nakahanda naman po ang DSWD na mamahagi ng food packs at non-food items at iba pong pangangailangan,” Dumlao said.</p><p>The DSWD official said there have been no problems associated with the distribution of aid, as the agency has been able to preposition some 3 million family food packs nationwide.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Energy Department said they are monitoring the situation in the Cordillera region, following reports of power interruptions in the provinces of Abra and Benguet.</p><p>Energy Assistant Secretary Mario Marasigan said power has been restored to all areas in Abra, while they are still awaiting updates from the Benguet Electric Cooperative.</p><p>&quot;Wala na tayong inaabangan, binabantayan na electric cooperative ilang area na lang po sa Benguet ang ating mino-monitor, at hopefully bago magtanghali makatanggap na tayo ng pinakahuling report tungkol dito,&quot; he said.</p><p>While the DOE is still collating reports of damage due to Crising and the southwest monsoon, Marasigan said they do not expect damage to be significant.</p><p>“Unang-una po wala tayong naging problema pagdating ng supply ng kuryente.
