LIST: Areas under state of calamity due to onslaught of habagat

MANILA — Several local government units have been placed under a state of calamity due to the effect of the onslaught of the southwest monsoon and recent tropical cyclone Crising.

Under a state of the calamity, the city or municipality can access its calamity funds of quick response funds, allowing the local government to quickly respond to the needs of its constituents. 

The declaration will also allow the local government to impose a price freeze on basic commodities.

The following areas are under a state of calamity:

As of Tuesday afternoon, one of the three low pressure areas around the Philippine area of responsibility developed into tropical depression Dante.

The enhanced Habagat will bring significant rainfall over Luzon and some parts of Visayas.

Up to torrential rains may be expected over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Metro Manila, PAGASA also warned.

Heavy rains and flooding across Metro Manila and Luzon has also prompted Malacañang to suspend classes and government work until Wednesday.
