Five people were confirmed dead while seven have been reported missing, according to the country&#x27;s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.  <em>Ted Aljibe, AFP </em></span></span></span>MANILA — More than 500,000 Filipino families or almost 2 million individuals were affected by the southwest monsoon and the onslaught of tropical cyclones &quot;Crising&quot;, &quot;Emong&quot; and &quot;Dante&quot; as of 6 p.m. of July 23, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.</div><p>The NDRRMC said 27,682 families were staying inside evacuation centers while 11,881 were served outside.</p><p>It has also received reports of 7 deaths, 7 injured, and 8 missing persons. The figures differ from those provided by other agencies.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/23/12-dead-from-crising-habagat-remulla-0846">12 dead from Crising, habagat: Remulla</a></div><p>The most disrupted regions were Central Luzon with 288,185 affected families, followed by Ilocos Region with 43,127 families and Western Visayas Region with 39,263 families.</p><p>A total of 418 areas across the country remain flooded, while floodwaters in 226 locations had already subsided.</p><p>The NDRRMC stated that 30 cities and municipalities have been declared under a state of calamity due to the impact of the inclement weather — most of which are located in Calabarzon.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/23/list-more-areas-now-under-state-of-calamity-due-to-onslaught-of-habagat-1829">LIST: More areas now under state of calamity due to onslaught of habagat</a></div><p>A total of 1,708 houses were also destroyed in different parts of the country, amounting to over P2.7 million damages.</p><p>Meanwhile, the estimated cost of damage to agriculture is P182 million, while authorities recorded P3.7 billion in infrastructure damages.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/23/crising-habagat-leaves-p4-2-billion-damage-in-infrastructure-agriculture-1527">Crising, habagat leaves P4.2-billion damage in infrastructure, agriculture</a></div><p>Out of 496,071 families needing assistance, the NDRRMC said the government has so far helped 171,193.</p><p>The NDRRMC noted that these numbers can change as situation develops and more reports get validated.</p><p>In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, state weather bureau said parts of Northern Luzon are under Signal No. 1, as &quot;Emong&quot; intensifies into a tropical storm.</p><p>&quot;Dante,&quot; meanwhile, may intensity over the next 12 hours.</p><p>&quot;Emong&quot; is forecast to move in a looping track due to its interaction with &quot;Dante&quot; and intensify up to severe tropical storm strength before making landfall over Ilocos Region by Friday.</p>
