Nicolas Torre III on Wednesday said he accepts the challenge of Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian &quot;Baste&quot; Duterte to a fistfight, proposing it be turned into a charity match for victims of weather disturbances.</div><p>Torre proposed holding a 12-round match at 9 a.m. this Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. He said he hoped sponsors could fund each round, with the proceeds going to those affected by the inclement weather.</p><p>“Whether he’s serious or not, let’s just put this to better use. Kung ‘yan ang gusto niya, madaling pagbigyan ‘yan, boxing na lang para madaling i-set up,” Torre told reporters when asked to respond to Duterte’s statement.</p><p>(If that’s what he wants, that’s easy to grant—let’s just go with boxing because it’s easier to set up.)</p><p>He said he would personally ask the Araneta management to set up a boxing ring.</p><p>In an earlier media appearance, Duterte cursed Torre and challenged him to a fistfight. The two have been at odds, with Torre leading the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/6/4/torre-insists-duterte-arrest-was-done-by-the-book-0007">arrest</a> of the vice mayor&#x27;s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.</p><p>“Matapang ka lang naman, you have the position eh. Pero kung suntukan tayo, alam ko kaya kita kung ganon lang. You are a coward. You are nothing without your position,” the younger Duterte said.</p><p>(You’re only brave because you have the position. But if it’s a fistfight, I know I can take you down. You are a coward. You are nothing without your position.)</p><p>Torre said he planned to hit the gym on Thursday for a quick workout.</p><p>“He was the one who issued the challenge. Sa atin naman, tinatanggap lang naman,” he said.</p><p>(He issued the challenge.
