<p>MANILA — The Quezon City government said it is ready for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address, which will be done at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Batasan Hills on Monday, July 28.</p><p>&quot;Our Law and Order Cluster is closely coordinating with the Philippine National Police to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors during this day,&quot; Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a release.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>CLASSES SUSPENDED</strong></div><p>Mayor Belmonte has issued executive orders to suspend classes in public schools.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/25/no-fashion-coverage-house-urges-lawmakers-to-tone-down-sona-spectacle-1146"><strong>&#x27;No fashion coverage&#x27;: House, Senate to tone down SONA spectacle amid &#x27;recent calamities&#x27;<br/></strong></a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>SECURITY MEASURES</strong></div><p>More than 10,000 personnel of the Quezon City Police District will be deployed across the city for the President’s address to a joint session of Congress.</p><p>Another 2,300 personnel from QC’s Law and Order Cluster and from other government agencies will provide support and assistance.</p><p>The city government is also calling on protesters to hold peaceful demonstrations, adding they should coordinate with the Department of Public Order and Safety for rally permits.</p><p>Under the Public Assembly Act of 1985, the public can hold rallies without permits only at designated freedom parks like the Liwasang Diokno in front of the Commission on Human Rights office along Commonwealth Avenue.</p><p>The city will also implement a liquor ban between 12:01 a.m. and 6 p.m. &quot;to mitigate any public disturbance caused by intoxication.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/26/ncrpo-to-deploy-over-16-000-cops-for-marcos-sona-classes-suspended-in-qc-1653"><strong>NCRPO to deploy over 16,000 cops for Marcos&#x27; SONA; Classes suspended in QC</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>TRAFFIC, EMERGENCY RESPONSE</strong></div><p>The city’s Traffic and Transport Management Department will deploy additional personnel to manage traffic during the SONA.</p><p>The city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and other emergency response units will also be on standby to provide medical support and assistance.</p>
