Because ang sabi ng Supreme Court, the Senate has no jurisdiction already. Dahil unconstitutional na yung finile ng House of Representatives. Well I&#x27;m not a lawyer pero yun ang interpretation ko ha,&quot; he said.</p><p>Estrada told media that the ruling will most likely be subjected to a debate and put to a vote on August 6.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/7/30/senate-house-clash-on-what-s-next-after-sc-ruling-on-vp-sara-impeachment-1525">Senate, House clash on what&#x27;s next after SC ruling on VP Sara impeachment</a></div><p>Estrada personally sees no need to wait for the SC to rule on the potential appeal to be filed by the House of Representatives, saying the Senate can always proceed to trial if the court reverses itself.</p><p>The House has until August 11 to file the motion for reconsideration.</p><p>Meanwhile, both the Majority and Minority Leaders of the Senate remained cautiously mum over the prospects of the disposition on the Supreme Court ruling after Estrada’s comments. </p><p>&quot;Perhaps that’s his opinion because most of us have not heard the flaws and questionable points in the SC decision. Let&#x27;s wait and see.&quot; Senate Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III said in a text message. </p><p>Sotto earlier signed a draft resolution being circulated by the group of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan asking that the court reconsider its ruling and make it applicable to future impeachments while allowing the Duterte case to go to trial. </p><p>So far, only Sotto, Pangilinan, Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros have signed.</p><p>Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva said, &quot;Hindi ko po kaya pangunahan ang mga kasama natin sa Senado.”</p><p>“Aug. 6 was set because a lot of our colleagues wanted to study further the almost 100 pages SC decision and consult legal luminaries.
