MANILA -- Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong believes the fight against anomalies in government projects should continue amidst allegations of massive corruption in flood control projects. Magalong was the guest speaker at the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) general membership meeting in Taguig City on Wednesday.He said people should speak out the truth in fighting corruption. “Silence should no longer be an option, it is complicity, it is tolerance,” said Magalong. According to Magalong, he has had conversations with contractors that revealed to him the depth of corruption. Claire Castro? Isipin mo sinabi niya siguraduhin ‘nyo lang na may basehan otherwise sinasayang ’nyo lang yung oras ng gobyerno. Nagulat nga kami doon. Kumbaga, it was directed to us, kaming dalawa ni Sen. Kami dapat yung kasama mo dito sa laban na ‘to eh, bakit parang kami pa &#x27;yung kaaway mo?&quot; he added.When asked what’s motivating him to continue his fight against corruption, Magalong explained that this is for the next generation of Filipinos -- including his children and grandchildren. “I don’t want my kids to suffer, I don’t want my grand kids to suffer….lagi kong iniisip eh..what’s going to happen with this kids if were not going to do anything about it,” according to Magalong. Magalong also denied having future political plans. “Wala naman akong planong tumakbo sa any national position, gusto ko lang talaga yung pagbabago ng sistema natin. I don’t have any plans to run for national position.
