Sisiyasatin ng Department of Public Works and Highways ang isang construction firm na may P250,000 na capital noong 2019 pero nakakuha ng <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/17/firm-with-p250k-paid-up-capital-among-biggest-contractors-for-flood-control-projects-docs-1537">bilyon-bilyon na proyekto sa pamahalaan</a>.Ibinunyag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. noong nakaraang linggo na ang MG Samidan Construction and Development Corp. ay naging ika-13 nangungunang kontratista ng gobyerno sa mga proyekto sa pagbaha matapos makakuha ng 60 flood control projects na may kabuuang P5.3 bilyon sa taong ito.“Medyo kaduda-duda nga. Tingnan namin ‘yung mga documents niya, kung kelan ginawa po ‘yan. Something is wrong, I must admit kung capital mo ay P250,000 tapos P5 billion ‘yung project niya,” ani DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan sa panayam sa DZMM.Ayon sa pag-analisa ng ABS-CBN Research and Verification Unit, ang MG Samidan Construction and Development Corp. ay nagpatupad ng mga proyekto nito sa 5 probinsya lamang—Abra, La Union, Mountain Province, Benguet, at Pangasinan.Base sa ‘Sumbong sa Pangulo’ website, ang pinakamalaking proyekto ng MG Samidan ay ang Salangsang Flood Control Structure sa La Paz, Abra, na may halagang P148.5 million.Natapos umano ang proyekto noong Setyembre 2024.Ayon kay Bonoan, mayroong quality assurance unit ang DPWH na nagsisiyasat sa kalidad ng mga proyekto para malaman kung substandard ang mga materyales na ginamit tulad ng manipis na semento o kulang-kulang na bakal.“Even during construction dapat tinitingnan nila ‘yan, dapat during construction may inspection kung tama ang ginagawa ng contractor,” aniya.
