Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has streamlined the application process for Postal ID to avoid hassle and confusion among its clients.</p><p>Under a circular dated March 20, 2025, new Postal ID applicants must personally appear and submit an accomplished application form, written in bold letters using black or blue ink.</p><p>Applicants are required to present a valid government-issued proof of identity, such as a PSA Birth Certificate, National ID, UMID card, Driver’s License, Passport, PRC ID, and Voter’s ID.</p><p>Aside from that, new Postal ID applicants must provide any proof of residence, such as a barangay certificate of residency, utility bill, lease contract, land title, or school billing statement.</p><p>Additional supporting documents will only be needed in special cases. These include a marriage certificate for married women using their spouse’s surname, a death certificate or annulment decree for widowed or annulled applicants, a divorce decree for divorced individuals, and a naturalization certificate for naturalized Filipinos.</p><p>Acting Postmaster General and CEO Maximo Sta. Maria III said the directive would standardize requirements to ensure efficient implementation across post offices nationwide.</p><p>“PHLPost would like to remind the public that these requirements are standardized and that no additional documents should be imposed outside of those enumerated in the official guidelines,” Sta.
