Courtesy: Barangay Laging Handa</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>2nd UPDATE</strong>) — The student severely injured by a piece of plaster that fell from a building in Tomas Morato, Quezon City has died, relatives confirmed to ABS-CBN News on Wednesday.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/13/student-injured-by-qc-condo-s-falling-debris-undergoes-surgery-1305">READ: Student injured by QC condo’s falling debris undergoes surgery</a></div><div>CJ Baldonado, 12, died on Tuesday night, according to his father and grandmother.<span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1756277763379cropped-GzVvkGZa4AUPafZ.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Photo courtesy of Jason Baldonado</span></span></span></div><p>&quot;Tapos na din ang pag hihirap mo kuya CJ, binigyan mo kami ng magandang laban, pinagbigyan kami ng Panginoon ng 2nd chance na makasama ka para makapagpaalam,” his father, Jason Baldonado, posted on Facebook.</p><p>&quot;Hindi kami papayag na walang mananagot sa nangyari sayo,&quot; Baldonado added.</p><p>Baldonado succumbed to his injuries weeks after his operation following the incident.</p><p>The victim’s grandmother said the family is arranging the funeral arrangements. </p><p>Another victim recently regained consciousness and is recovering after surgery, while his twin brother, who sustained minor injuries, is undergoing counseling, according to relatives.</p><p>The local government of Quezon City expressed its condolences to the family of Baldonado, and promised to continue seeking justice for his family and the family of the two other victims.</p><p>The city government also said it is finalizing the filing of criminal charges against the management of the building.</p><p>&quot;Napakasakit at napakabigat ng trahedyang ito. Roces Avenue, at the corner of Tomas Morato, when plaster from between the seventh and eighth floors of a building suddenly fell and struck them on the head.</p><p>City legal officer Carlo Austria earlier said they are investigating whether a telecom antenna installed on a building wall along Tomas Morato Avenue weakened the plaster that fell and injured the three Grade 7 students.</p><p>Austria said the city inspected the building in March 2025, but no report was issued about the antenna.
