Walang news report at art card ang ABS-CBN News tungkol sa pagbubunyag diumano ni investigative journalist Malou Mangahas tungkol sa kanyang natuklasang investment platform na nag-aalok ng malaking kita. Pinabulaanan ito ni Mangahas, at hindi rehistrado ang nabanggit na platform sa pekeng report.

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/175446150315920250805_Investigative Documentaries_Main.png" style="width:750px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>Ginamit ang ABS-CBN News at si investigative journalist at dating GMA News TV host Malou Mangahas sa dalawang clickbait links na naglalaman ng agaw-pansin na headline at dumidirekta sa kahina-hinalang mga webpage.</p><p>Sa isang Facebook post, makikita ang larawan ni Mangahas na nakabusal at mababasa ang tekstong “<em>THIS STORY WAS SUPPOSED TO AIR ON INVESTIGATIVE DOCUMENTARIES BUT THE EPISODE WAS REMOVED</em>.”</p><p>Naka-link ang larawan sa isang diumano’y news report na nakalathala noong Agosto 4, 2025 sa isang webpage na gumaya sa hitsura ng ABS-CBN News website.</p><p>Sa isa pang hiwalay na post, makikita naman ang isang art card na gumamit sa logo ng ABS-CBN News at larawan ni Mangahas para palabasing sinabi niyang “<em>WE WERE FORCEDTO DESTROY ALL THE MATERIALS</em>.”</p><p>Naka-link naman ang nasabing art card sa isang webpage na naglalaman ng mga diumano’y balita tungkol sa science and technology.</p><p>Taliwas sa mga post na ito, walang ulat at wala ring inilabas na art card ang ABS-CBN News tungkol sa diumano’y ibinunyag ni Mangahas.</p><p>Pinabulaanan din ni Mangahas ang mga diumano’y nilalaman ng pekeng news report.</p><p>“The article is absolutely false. Not a shred of it is true,” sabi ni Mangahas.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Senyales ng pagiging peke</strong></div><p>Base sa pekeng news report, natuklasan diumano ni Mangahas ang investment platform na Glumbic Pluck nang imbestigahan niya ang mga korporasyong diumano’y pinagkakakitaan ang energy crisis.</p><p>Isinagawa diumano ni Mangahas ang imbestigasyon para sa kanyang istorya sa programa niyang “Investigative Documentaries” sa GMA News. Hindi umano pumayag ang GMA News na ilabas ang tungkol sa investment platform dahil maaari itong mag-“destabilize” ng “financial market.” Ito diumano ang ibinunyag niya sa isang panayam sa ABS-CBN News na kilalang main competitor ng GMA News.</p><p>Ginamit din sa kwento ang iba pang GMA News journalists na sina Jessica Soho at Atom Araullo na sinubukan diumanong kapanayamin ni Mangahas kaugnay sa paggamit nila ng nasabing platform.</p><p>Maraming indikasyon na hindi totoo ang ulat.</p><p>Una, inilabas ang nasabing news report sa isang webpage na may Uniform Resource Locator o URL na https://cutelemonade.com/. Iba ito sa URL ng official website ng ABS-CBN News na <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.abs-cbn.com/news</a>.</p><p>Mahahalata rin ang pagkakaiba sa font ng headline at byline sa pekeng article at sa totoong article na nakalathala sa ABS-CBN News website.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/175440345359020250805_Investigative Documentaries_comparison.png" style="width:750px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div><p>Pangalawa, wala ang naturang platform na Glumbic Pluck sa database ng mga awtorisadong investment companies. Batay ito sa website ng <a href="https://checkwithsec.sec.gov.ph/check-with-sec/index" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC</a>).</p><p>Pangatlo, nauna nang inilabas ng GMA Network at iba pang news outlets ang portraits at group photos nina <a href="https://www.pep.ph/news/local/173945/jessica-soho-gma-7-a755-20230618-lfrm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Soho</a>, <a href="https://www.gmanetwork.com/entertainment/showbiznews/gma-raises-ph-flag-in-global-awards-scene/93695/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Araullo</a>, at One News political editor <a href="https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/cbb/content/228031/investigative-docus-to-air-special-on-the-freedom-of-information-bill-this-august-4-on-gma-news-tv/story/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ed Lingao</a> na ginamit sa pekeng news report.</p><p>Pang-apat, nilinaw ni Mangahas na wala pang nagagawang report tungkol sa energy crisis ang programang Investigative Documentaries na huling umere noon pang 2020.</p><p>&quot;Investigative Documentaries focuses on governance, public accountability and poverty and socio-economic issues. It&#x27;s not done a story about energy or the energy crisis at all. And no episode has been censored,” sabi ni Mangahas.</p><p>Naniniwala si Mangahas na ilan din sa palantandaan ng pagiging peke ng nasabing news report ay ang paggamit nito ng “fake interview style, emotional and conspiratorial tone, aggressive call to action, false association of personalities, [at] hidden promotion.”</p><div> </div><div><strong>Masamang hangarin</strong></div><p>Ayon pa kay Mangahas, ang pekeng news report ay isang paraan ng paggamit sa propesyon ng pamamahayag para sa masamang intensyon.</p><p>&quot;[I]t&#x27;s a very bad play on journalism, on an article disguised as journalism, sabi ni Mangahas. &quot;I think the point of the report is actually to con people who are after money, who are after paydirt, just so they could invest in something like an entity that is not really known or tested and has no track record,” dagdag niya.</p><p>Tingin din ni Mangahas ginamit ang network competition sa pagitan ng ABS-CBN News at GMA News para mas makakuha ng atensyon.</p><p>“I think it&#x27;s also a bad play on the competition between the networks.
