Maria Tan, ABS-CBN News/File </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) was mum on the whereabouts of Vice President Sara Duterte ahead of the Senate’s Wednesday debates on whether it would follow a Supreme Court ruling that blocked her impeachment trial. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/6/duterte-virtually-involved-in-ovp-decision-making-spox-1219">Filipinos&#x27; &#x27;loss&#x27; if Senate votes to dismiss VP Sara impeachment: House spox</a></div><p>OVP Spokesperson Ruth Castelo was answering questions on <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/8/6/duterte-virtually-involved-in-ovp-decision-making-spox-1219">Duterte’s involvement in the rollout of her programs</a> when reporters asked the official’s whereabouts. </p><p>Castelo said she would “get back” to reporters with confirmation on whether the Vice President was in the Philippines. </p><p>Pressed whether Duterte’s scheduled trip to Kuwait would push through, Castelo said, “Let me verify that information, we’ll get back to you on that one.” </p><p>Another reporter asked how Duterte was doing and where she was, to which Castelo replied, “We’ll get back to you on that before we end this conference.” </p><p>“Is she just here?” a reporter said. </p><p>“Who knows, she can just be right in the office, a few steps away. We’ll give you the answer later,” Castelo said. </p><p>An Aug. 4 post on the OVP Facebook page said that Duterte was in Marinduque from July 29 to 31 with former Speaker Lourd Allan Velasco. </p><p>Duterte and Velasco visited learners in several schools to provide school supplies and bread to those identified as “wasted and severely wasted learners” or children with severe malnutrition, the OVP said.  </p><p>The Vice President earlier said she would travel to Kuwait on August 8 to attend another gathering of Duterte supporters, while a scheduled trip to South Korea was also in the works.</p><p>Malacañang also has no information on the current location of the vice president, according to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro, who was asked to comment on Castelo&#x27;s earlier statements.</p><p>Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said the last travel authority issued to Duterte was from July 5 – 28 for her trip to the Hague, the Netherlands and South Korea, according to Castro.</p><p>&quot;Sa ngayon ay wala po tayong impormasyon. Tinawagan po natin ang Office of the Executive Secretary sa ating pagkakaalam at sa info na ibinigay. Ang pinakahuling travel authority na naibigay sa kanya ay simula July 5 hanggang July 28 kung saan po siya nag-travel papuntang the Netherlands at South Korea,&quot; the Palace official said in a press briefing in New Delhi, India Wednesday, August 6 on the sidelines of Pres.
