<p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — One male protester allegedly involved in the Mendiola riot Sunday has died from stabbing, while another was injured from a gunshot wound and is being treated in the hospital.</p><p>The two were brought to Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center on Sunday, September 21. </p><p>One sustained stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival (DOA) at the hospital, according to DOH Spokesperson Asec. Albert Domingo. The protester did not have any identification on him, leaving his identity still unknown.</p><p>&quot;Ang makikita po natin dun sa ating pasyente na &#x27;yun o dun sa namatay, stab wounds po &#x27;yung nangyari. Four of them have been discharged, while two remain admitted for further medical care.</p><p>Meanwhile, 39 protesters are currently undergoing physical examinations as part of standard procedure before being brought to detention facilities.</p><p>The DOH said these patients are all covered by Zero Balance Billing regardless of their role in the protest.</p><p>&quot;Yung determinasyon kung meron man siyang legal liability ay hindi sa ospital. Ang ospital po gagamutin ang lahat. Lahat po ng dinadala ay mga pasyente at dapat pong gamutin,&quot; Domingo said.</p><p>As of now, the DOH has yet to release the total number of injured individuals from Sunday&#x27;s protests who were brought to its hospitals.</p><p>&quot;Maliban sa Jose Reyes, wala naman kaming nakukuhang alerts mula dun sa ibang ospital lalo na &#x27;yung malapit sa Quezon City,&quot; Domingo said.</p><p>Meanwhile, Ayala Bridge has been reopened to motorists today, Monday, September 22.</p><p>However, PNP riot police and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel remain on the ground.</p><p>A burned container truck from Sunday&#x27;s chaos still serves as a makeshift barricade in anticipation of possible unrest.</p><p>Both sides of the barricade are passable to motorists, with traffic flow in  north and southbound remaining light to moderate.</p><div><br/></div><div></div>
