Mirasol, Nando, Opong death toll rises to 13 – NDRRMC

<p>MANILA — The death toll from the combined impacts of the southwest monsoon or habagat and tropical cyclones Mirasol, Nando and Opong has risen to 13, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday.</p><p>In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said three of the deaths are confirmed while ten are pending verification.</p><p>Seventeen people were injured while two people remain missing, it added.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/weather-traffic/2025/9/24/severe-tropical-storm-opong-slightly-intensifies-signal-no-2-still-up-in-samar-provinces-2345">Severe tropical storm Opong slightly intensifies; Signal No. 2 still up in Samar provinces</a></div><p>The weather disturbances have affected 224,549 families or 915,827 individuals in 11 regions, namely Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, CAR, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and National Capital Region (NCR).</p><p>Of the total, 22,119 individuals are staying in evacuation centers while 25,708 others are taking shelter in other places.</p><p>A total of 2,877 houses were reported damaged — 2,658 partially and 219 totally destroyed.</p><p>The initial estimate for agricultural damage is P14.85 million, and for infrastructural damage, P21.56 million.</p><p>So far, the national government has provided P12.23 million in assistance to affected families, with relief operations ongoing.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/24/marcos-satisfied-with-typhoon-preps-teodoro-2118">Marcos ‘satisfied’ with typhoon preps: Teodoro</a></div>
