Vince Dizon to conduct a sweeping review of the DPWH budget under the proposed 2026 National Expenditure Program.</p><p>Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said Marcos Jr. emphasized that the review &quot;must lead to the necessary changes to guarantee transparency, accountability and proper use of people’s money.&quot;</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/2/senators-flag-p50-billion-in-flood-control-items-in-2026-budget-1555">&#x27;Exact amounts&#x27;: Senators flag P50 billion in flood control items in 2026 budget</a></div><p>This will ensure that &quot;resources are directed toward infrastructure projects that genuinely served and benefit Filipino people,&quot; according to Castro.</p><p>The Palace official explained the review will determine whether there are indeed insertions or duplications in the allocation that need to be removed. </p><p>The changes to be made in the DPWH budget will be through the issuance of budget errata. </p><p>Castro also offered an explanation when Marcos Jr. said that even the 2026 budget had insertions. </p><p>&quot;Nasabi po natin noong nakaraang press briefing na ito ay nabanggit ni Representative Marcy [Teodoro] at Representative [Ronaldo] Puno, so doon lamang po kumuha pansamantalang impormasyon ang Pangulo at ang DBM,&quot; she said. </p><p>&quot;At ito po ay pag-aaralang mabuti kaya po ang DBM pati po ang DPWH ay bubusisiin po ito talaga kung totoo bang nagkaroon ng mga duplication, nagkaroon ng insertion, dapat po kasi matanggal ito through errata,&quot; she added.</p><p>The Palace official added that review will be &quot;swift&quot; to not cause delays in the passage of the national budget.</p><p>&quot;Hangga&#x27;t maaari, ayaw din ng Pangulo ng reenacted budget. Sa bilis po ng pagtatrabaho ni Sec. Vince at saka ni Sec. Mina Pangandaman, mabilisan po ito.
