Handout/PCO "/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrives in Cambodia for a three-day state visit, September 7, 2025. <em>Handout/PCO </em></span></span></span></div><p>PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday arrived here in Cambodia for his three-day state visit, which Philippine officials earlier said is seen to further deepen the two countries’ bilateral relations.</p><p>Marcos arrived in Phnom Penh aboard presidential plane PR 001 at 3:08 p.m. Cambodia time, accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.</p><p>In his pre-departure speech, the President noted the “dynamism” between the Philippines and Cambodia across key sectors, which include defense and security, trade, agriculture, heritage preservation, among others.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/7/marcos-off-to-cambodia-for-state-visit-hopes-for-very-productive-meetings-1544">Marcos off to Cambodia for state visit, hopes for ‘very productive’ meetings</a></div><p>&quot;I will discuss ways to further diversify our cooperation and strengthen our intra-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) relationships and exchanges by capitalizing on our complementary strengths in the face of global economic headwinds,” he said.</p><p>“To this end, we will discuss expanding our commercial relations and building more resilient value chains”, he said.</p><p>This is the first time in nine years that a Philippine president visited the Southeast Asian country, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has said, as Marcos aims to push for stronger efforts against transnational crimes and seek support for Manila’s chairmanship of the ASEAN in 2026.</p><p>Last week, the DFA said Marcos and his delegation will attend an event with the Filipino community in this Southeast Asian country later tonight.</p><p>On Monday, the President is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and keynote a roundtable with Filipino and Cambodian business leaders.</p><p>Among the expected deals include stronger people-to-people ties through higher education, tourism, and exportation of Filipino products to Cambodia.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2iH8HYYewR4?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
