Mark Demayo, ABS-CBN News/File</div>MANILA – The Bureau of Immigration on Tuesday said it recorded 15.6 million passenger arrivals in the country in 2025.Immigration deputy spokesperson Melvin Mabulac said they saw more passengers coming to the Philippines from different parts of the world last year, increasing by 6 percent compared to the data in 2024.Foreign travelers who went to the Philippines, Mabulac said, were 6.7 million last year.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2025/12/23/immigration-deploys-more-personnel-as-passenger-numbers-surge-at-naia-1437">Immigration deploys more personnel as passenger numbers surge at NAIA</a></div>“Ine-ensure naman natin na kahit ganoon karami, ang ating immigration ay naga-adapt ng teknolohiya para mas advanced ang pag-check, pag-verify. Making sure na marami tayong mga tauhan na magma-man sa ating mga paliparan,” he said in a public briefing.The official said they are also using technology for early detection of threats, making sure that the national security and public health are protected despite the increasing number of travelers.Mabulac also attributed the uptick of passenger arrivals to the modernization of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).“Napakaganda ng feedback nila (passengers) lalo na sa nilagay nating bagong e-gates sa NAIA Terminals 1 and 3. Around 5 to 15 seconds ang proseso at talagang napakabilis at tuwang-tuwa ang lahat ng gumagamit nito,” he said.“For now, ang gumagamit ay Pilipino. Once maayos ang lahat, mag-eexpand ito, including ang mga foreign nationals.
