<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1768290386121viber_image_2026-01-13_15-17-29-908_cropped_processed_by_imagy.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The suspect and victim are among six CIDG personnel placed under restrictive custody for allegedly stealing evidence money seized during a POGO raid in Bagac, Bataan in 2024.  <em>PNP-CIDG via Karen de Guzman, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATE) </strong>— A police personnel, who is under restrictive custody over a POGO-related case, stabbed his fellow cop and co-accused inside the PNP Anti-Organized Crime Unit on Tuesday morning.</p><p>The suspect and victim are among six Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) personnel placed under restrictive custody for allegedly stealing evidence money seized during a POGO raid in Bagac, Bataan in 2024. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/31/pogo-raid-in-bataan-2019">IN PHOTOS: Authorities raid alleged scam hub in Bataan</a></div><p>Based on an initial police report, the incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. while the police officers were preparing for their scheduled preliminary investigation at the Quezon City Prosecutor&#x27;s Office.</p><p>Witnesses, identified by their ranks as a Police Chief Master Sergeant and a Police Staff Sergeant, were having breakfast in the AOCU kitchen when the victim entered the area, followed shortly by the suspect.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1768290479143viber_image_2026-01-13_15-17-29-182_cropped_processed_by_imagy.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The suspect and victim are among six CIDG personnel placed under restrictive custody for allegedly stealing evidence money seized during a POGO raid in Bagac, Bataan in 2024.  <em>PNP-CIDG via Karen de Guzman, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>Moments later, the suspect drew a kitchen knife.</p><p>Upon noticing the weapon, the victim rushed toward him and attempted to restrain him.</p><p>During the struggle, however, the suspect managed to stab the victim in the back, causing injury.</p><p>The wounded police officer was immediately rushed to the PNP General Hospital, where he was attended to by the duty physician.</p><p>Medical authorities said the victim is currently under observation due to blood loss and is awaiting further examination, including an X-ray.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>&#x27;WARNING SIGNS&#x27;</strong></div><div> </div><p>Investigators said that even before the stabbing incident, there were already warning signs.</p><p>At around 5:30 a.m., the officer of the day had reported a sudden change in the suspect&#x27;s behavior.</p><p>Following the incident, the PNP secured the crime scene and recovered the kitchen knife, which will undergo forensic examination by the PNP Crime Laboratory.</p><p>The suspect has been placed under custody pending administrative and criminal investigations.</p><p>Police authorities are also coordinating with the Quezon City Prosecutor&#x27;s Office for the filing of appropriate charges.</p><p>A thorough administrative inquiry is underway, including a medical and psychological evaluation of the suspect.</p><p>Welfare checks and support are likewise being provided to the injured officer and other personnel who witnessed the incident.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YVz0g3qKp78?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
